In-Person Appearances

During this year, I will be appearing at the following venues to talk about my new book, Strong Roots. Please do come along if you can.

Sunday, 18th January, 2026, 11 am - Lewes Speakers’ Festival.

Olia will be talking about her memoir, Strong Roots, and how it was written to heal, to bear witness and to help us understand. This event will be preceeded with a performance by Ukrainian choir Volya Voices, and afterwards, there will also be a Samchykivka folk art workshop with Diana Yeliseieva, followed by a Travnytsia Herbal Doll workshop with Iryna Holoshchapovabe. Thursday, 22nd January, 2026, France 24 LIVE

Olia will be interviewed live at 8.45 am (UK time).

Saturday 7th February, 2026, 6.00 pm - Gloucester Ukrainian Club, The Strength and Spirit of Ukrainian Heritage.

Olia will be sharing insights from Strong Roots. There will be a Ukrainian music performance from the bandura ensemble, Dnipro. and a display of ‘The Ukrainian Door’, Artlab Studio. Entrance is by donation to support Aid For Ukraine, Gloucester. The address is Gloucester Ukrainian Church Hall, GL1 4AE.

Saturday 21st February, 2026, 10 am - Saturday Kitchen LIVE

Olia will be cooking a Ukrainian dish.

Sunday 8th March - Monday 9th March, 2026 - Parebere Forum, Barcelona.

Olia will be keynote speaker. The theme for this year is "Roots and Roads".  While "roots" refers to origins, heritage, and a deep sense of belonging, "roads" signifies pathways, travel and connection between cultures and the journey of life itself. We will be discussing forced displacement, migrations, indigenous women's rights and hunger as a weapon of war. Further details to come.
